Go to JeepinOutfitters or DPGOffroad.

Your biggest factor in how your XJ rides comes down to the shocks. White shocks are going to ride $h!tty. Never had OME's but if you go with a well known shock company, like Bilstein, you will definitely notice a difference. As for springs, springs are springs other than spring rates, but don't run Rusty's cause everything they make sucks.

I want to call dpg and talk to them about what i need for my jeep but they close at 5 and they're not open on the weekend. I like their 3" ome kit but i dont think i need the quick disconnects because the most my jeep will see is probably driving on the beach. The main reason for the lift is because im 6'6" and i tower over it and i want to make it look like a more modern suv, at stock height its not much taller than a subaru wagon.

I'm 5'8" and I'm still taller than my 3" and 31s.

That's cause you have a RC lift. My RE 3.5" on 33's sits at 6' at the roof

you probably netted about 4 to 4.5 right? and you have 33s. so that makes sense.. I got 3.5 lift and only have 31s. if I had 33s it'd be taller than me.

The 33's only give 1" more height over 31's. I netted 4" but my Xj does have a decent bit of armor

I don't know what 33s and 31s you measured but I know different brands of tires measure different heights. my buddy has 31s his are about a half inch taller than mine.

It is simple to figure out a tire that is 2" taller overall will only give you 1" once mounted on the vehicle It does not matter which brand you compare

now how does that work?

and what I mean is tread. I've seen other companies with deeper tread making tires a little taller.

Most mud tires have between 19 and 23/32nds tread depth.

Read the thread in the link it will help you understand my point.
