Got my bumper done (for now) today. I still need to go back for the tire carrier, d ring tabs, and I'm going to add angle iron on the frame rail brackets to add bolts in the stock location to give it some more up and down stability. I'm confident in recovering from this as is, but I know it will bend up and down because I just notched 2x2x.25 tube. It's got 8 grade 8 bolts running through the frame rails as is.

Also excuse the paint, it wasn't as dry as I thought it was. Was pissed about it, but it's temporary to keep it from rusting anyway. I'll just sand the bad spots down tomorrow and respray. It's rubberized undercoating. Once I have it and the tire carrier totally done I'm either going to bedline both or have them powder coated.

Total cost on this so far: $46

Redid the exhaust. Hollowed the cat out and replaced the muffler with a resonator off a 12 Subaru STI. Surprisingly not that much louder, definitely better than the stock exhaust and definitely getting more power.

Also welded my clevis mounts into my rear bumper.

Angle of the pictures suck. There's not nearly as much gap as it looks like and the tailpipe doesn't hang anywhere near as low as it looks like either.

Sent in an order for 4 sticks of 8'x1.25"x.120 HREW for sliders and a front bumper. Likely going to do the sliders first as I have a bunch of 2x2x.187 square tube laying around from when I built the tire carrier so it's not going to cost me anything other than the tube to do the sliders. For the front bumper I'm going to do something similar to the picture below, but I'm going to hold it out further and incorporate a small stinger and winch plate. I don't feel like trying to fab the front brackets with just a grinder so I'm going to just order them from AJs. I'd rather spend $70 than screw with cutting and drilling 1/4" plate.

It was 75* out today here out of the blue so I pulled the doors for the afternoon and screwed around in it a little. Hadn't flexed it since I put the lift on. Think I'm gonna add another inch when I go up to 33s when I get new tires.

Obligatory poser shots.

Pay no mind to the exhaust. Stupid tailpipe fell off last night. Just had it clamped, I didn't want to weld it up til I was sure I liked the sound of the STI resonator.

Apparently we are gonna have weather like this for a good part of the winter so i'll probably be removing my doors here soon. I wish I had a <97... how did you get your muffler off the first time? I can't seem to get mine cause it was clamped so tight before and now is siezed...

It's getting cold again starting tomorrow and it's going to rain. I have a DD but I tend to drive the Jeep most the time anyway so I don't leave the doors off most the time til the spring. I've got a storage unit like 1/8 mile from my house so it's not a big deal to throw them in there real quick.

I cut it off and threw it out the first time I got it on a lift. Running the cat hollowed out with a new Subaru STI resonator on it right now. Get yourself an exhaust kit, makes doing it so much easier and they're cheap.

I've got a $40 one from work and it works great.

No emissions in VA outside a handful of counties in northern VA from all the DC trash runoff.

Technically it's a felony and an EPA violation, but I don't really care and the odds of anyone that would finding out are pretty damn low.

Does VA have inspection though?

Completely stock, and keeping it that way...
