Yuppp. I hear you about cluttering the hatch. When I (seriously) wheel it's usually a couple hours away and I go with everything I need to pull an axle or DS etc. to limp home if required.

I'm working on a concept for the tire outside, and possibly may be picking up a new DD by the end of the month, so the access to the hatch issue may go away anyways.

I think your concept and design is fine. It's a pretty easy/safe first project. I suppose the head has eaten into the misc. budget a bit.

Jeep looks good man! Liking the tire carrier, and that green paint will look sweet.

I'd say $400 for that XJ is a steal! Around here if an XJ runs and the 4x4 works, it will bring at least $1000, even with a rotted body.

Not too bad. I've gotten all my steel for free, it's just pushed the hardware budget back a couple weeks.

Used to get them all day long around here for $4-599 now even renix eras with high 200k mileages with motor issues are going for $1000 min. I just happened to catch a guy on CF who was about to haul this one to the junkyard so I offered him $100 more than the jy was going to give him.

Finally got my new head on. Didn't have time for the lift and tires sadly, but they'll be on soon. Still need to flush the coolant and put a new serpintine belt on. Wasn't able to get a new one today.

Or not. Stupid weld broke on the nut for the upper bolt on the shackles. Stuffing the 32s in and trimming the fenders later or tomorrow.

I just finished trimming the front and they look like they fit better already.

I plan to, I just didn't feel like messing with them yesterday. They need to be taken down to bare metal to be painted.

Got it dirty this afternoon. Work royally sucked today, but wheeling it helped. There's some trails for powerlines and survey trails behind my apartment from an abandoned development project. Nothing crazy, I've got back there stock, but there's spots I couldn't go before I'm confident in going in now. About 3 miles of trail over all, definitely a couple spots where I was sideways enough that rolling it was possible. Obviously not pictured because I wasn't about to try and work my camera and drive at the same time lol

That mud hole on the left didn't seem all that deep, but it rained yesterday and it was enough to sink the 32s.
