well here is a temporary set up in the Jeep for now. I used a velcro mount because I still swap it out between the 4Runner and XJ

Yes, the wire is fixed to the unit. The scan gauge has a detachable cord that allows for better mounting and piggy back off other units. But the ultra gauge is better in terms of user friendly and price IMO.

I have an UltraGauge in my 97. I gave it a pretty thorough test over 4,500 miles and it's been really accurate. My dash is just dummy lights but I like having more specific information available.

Mine just alerted me that it is time for an oil change and also that I am down to 3 gallons in my tank (custom alarms). When your CEL trips, the unit will also give you an alarm and show you the code.

For the price I think it is a great convenience. I'd highly recommend.

If you're talking about mine, other than fabbing a mount to go above the cluster cowl on the dash, this is the best place for visibility. Plus it's just peel and stick Velcro holding it in place and I lack a full function cluster.

With over size tires the MPG and everything else would be accurate?

Only if your speedometer gear has been changed accordingly. If it hasn't, not only will that aftermarket gauge be wrong, but your odometer, speedometer, and trip will be wrong as well.

You can dial both the Ultragauge and Scangauge2 in to be accurate. You have to drive a known measured distance and then go into set up and put in the calibration factor, it will then apply that to all distance and MPG values.

48 different gauges on my 4Runner, 6 gauges per page and 7 pages.
I have the same one in my 01XJ, it was the best thing I have spent money on in a while.

Spend the money. It's worth the $65! It just plugs into the OBD2 plug.
