Picked up an XJ, need some help

Here it is, '98 Sport:

I have an '05 Wrangler too (so I'm mainly on that other forum), but my Rubi needed a friend. I don't plan on doing much to it besides DDing it, the Wrangler is my off-road toy.

That said, I'm having trouble finding a few things that I thought would be super easy to get off Amazon, Quadratec or whatever but no luck.

1. Seat Covers
2. Cargo Shade
3. Mud flaps (I know, but may need to pass inspection at some point so I'd like to have on-hand)

Go to the junk yard and get some grand Cherokee seats to bolt in then you will have no trouble finding seat covers for them and your *** will thank you on long drives.

Nice XJ! I agree with 98muddyjeep on the seats. I swapped in some leather seats from an 01 grand cherokee and they are way more comfortable than my XJ seats. Just swap the rails from your XJ seats, to the WJ seats and bolt them back in.

Are they lower? These seats are way too high, and I should probably re-drill the rails to put it further back. Sucks being tall.

No they are about the same in terms of height, maybe even a tad higher due to more padding.

You lose about an inch of headroom with ZJ or WJ seats, but they're FAR more comfortable. I'm 6'3" and don't have any issues with them. Only seat covers I'd bother with on XJ seats are the Smittybilt G.E.A.R. covers.

Good luck finding a cargo cover, they're extremely difficult to find.

As for mudflaps, afaik you can really only get generic ones.

If you're DDing this thing I'd highly suggest an H4 headlight upgrade and replacing all the interior, dash, and shifter lights with LEDs. Makes a massive difference for short money. You can get the H4 bulbs, housings, and wiring harness for under $100 shipped off Amazon and all you need for install is about 20-30 minutes and a screwdriver.

MC is right. The H4 swap is worth it. I paid $43 for everything to be shipped. The only other thing you would need is a Putco Headlight Harness.

I decided to use Hella 55/100w Bulbs instead of the stock Autopal Bulbs.

Stock Sealed Beam on left, Autopal with Hella 55/100w Bulb on right.

Same but now with highbeams on

Tested them out in an empty parking lot
