pcm or ecu update on 97 or newer cherokee?

anybody ever heard of this. I read something on another forum, wondering if its true

the post mentioned something about a "software update" done at a dealership that adjust fuel curves, and timing?

I guess it makes the jeep more efficient...

just curious if anybody here has heard of that or not, and if so how much it would cost
