Lightbulb parts compatibility

I was just wondering if some of the parts from 1990 to 1993 will work on a 1994 Jeep cherokee Sport. I have had some problems locating some of the body parts that need replacing and was wondering if anyone had info on this. Thanks.

Most of the parts will work on the 94, if you get into the electrical items there were quite a few changes from the 1990 levels. Your best bet is to hook up with a salvage yard or buy a "beater" for spares.

Earlier xj's used the renix fi system, so quite afew engine components wont interchange..As for body parts I'm pretty sure it is the same. If your doing major front end work you might consider looking into a 97+ front clip swap too

'98 xj: 3.5" RE, 31's, nates front bumper, etc etc...

'90 xj: Wrecked, waiting for the day it can become a full blown trail rig.

Stick to 1992-1994 to assure the best possible compatibility of all parts with your '94.

Specific parts just depend on what exactly you're talking about... external body panels (front clip, fenders, hood, doors, etc) will be the same from 1987-1996. And probably 1984-1986 would work as well. The main physical change between 1986 and 1987 was the firewall being modified to fit the then-new 4.0L I6.

Most interior trim will be the same from 1984-1996, with minor differences in color, fabric, etc, through the years. Main differences appearance-wise between the 1995/1996 XJs and prior years is that 1995/1996 got a driver's side air bag and Chrysler steering column (vs the old GM steering column that had been used up until then). 1996 was the first year for the ODBII system, so there's going to be some electrical differences starting then as well.

If you can provide specifics on what you've got to work on on your 1994, someone will be able to give you the details on what will work for you.
