Overhaulin' an XJ

You hear a noise in the garage and when you investigate you discover Chip Foose has your XJ half loaded on a wrecker When he comes clean and says you are being "overhauled" What should he do to the XJ .................?

??
I do like that show, Chip not only makes good cars, he does a good job on TV.. I like the one time he played a bum back when they still actually stole poeples cars; he played the part perfectly, lol.

Did they ever overhaul an XJ? I don't know if I would approve of one, it would probably be too flashy.

I wouldn't like seeing it look so flashy. I am not into the street look.

Umm if someone came and tried to pick up my XJ with a wrecker well they might be "Holy" before they left.

HAHA i think you mean holey! I guess as long as I helped them design it and it didn't have ANY chrome I would be OK.

As long as there is more rubber than rim and it's not too pretty to wheel, I'd be cool with it I'm sure it would end up with a pretty badass interior.

Weasel's XJ

NOT TO NICE TO USE AS A JEEP!!!!

Interior
Suspension seats
Good stereo but not 3 megawatts of speaker/amps
Lots of 12v power taps for phones/GPS/computer/etc
USABLE CUPHOLDERS
exterior
Imaron paint The toughest paint I know of almost as good as powder coat)
Well designed winch and swingout tire bumpers
REAL roof rack

Tires and wheels
Good Foose rims and 33 MTS

Suspension & axles
4-5" quality long arm lift
D44 axles front and rear
selectable lockers front and rear

Engine and transmission
Here is where it gets realy crazy...............
Wait for it..........

Cadilac CTS 2 liter V6 and transmission
divorced STAK 3 transfer case

Maybe I am crazy but I AM spending someone else's money

Put the Jeep back on the ground, give me the parts, and get the H$ll of my drive way!

I like the show, it would be cool but I think they would put too much radio and paint on it. On the other hand, if Xzibit takes my XJ for Pimp my ride... I would burn it along with the 32 TVs but I bet they could instal a central vaccum in the Jeep, that would be sweet.

i do like that show. i think if i were to get a jeep overhauled it would be the CJ7 that i am looking at buying. nothing fancy just fully restore it, get rid of ALL the rust. all OEM parts, maybe a suddle lift and larger tire and clean looking rim. i dont really wanna know what they would do to an XJ lol

2wd 97+ XJ

Either a 4.7 with a supercharger, or a LS engine with a supercharger.

6 speed manual

17'' Foose wheels

4 link rear

33 spilne D44 with ARB

Frame stiffeners front to back

Small internal cage

Nice stereo system

Big disks front and back

Nice paint, no chrome and no crazy paint scheme

I like the show, but it really takes all the fun out of building up an older car. Yes... it's freakin sweet to get all the custom work and parts for free, but there goes your project car.

They did that girl's Ranger pickup pretty nice way back in season 1. Something like that, only more off-road worthy and I don't need the crazy expensive paint, OD green & black would be sweet.

You mean the explorer with the stars all over it? Thing was lifted so high, it had positive camber on the front wheels...

I'm thinking CRD60's w/ARB's run on a custom Nitrogen tank setup front and rear, LS2/4L80E, clean interior cage with mastercraft seats, 3-link front, double triangulated 4 link rear, and 36" Iroks on Rock Monster beadlocks.
