Nice pics.

This thread is a fine description of what off-roading is all about. Good times, challenging trails, new friends/old friends, awesome scenery........

Okay here's a few pics. This will have to do for now until I get them all sorted and resized. I won't repeat all the ones Tom posted of Moab Rim but Tom I'll be sending you all hi-res versions of what I have.

Tom trying the hard line up Moab Rim's Z-turn.

A great view

DAY 2 Strike Revine

We started the actual first day of the event running Strike Revine. We decided we would run that trail because it would be a new trail for me and my brother, plus Alex (Handlebars) was leading the trail and he always puts on a great trail run. We had 20 rig plus the trail leader. We drove to a pull off about 9 miles outside of town to start the trail.

First Obsticle was Big Ugly Hill

The trail in general was an average rated trail but had some great views

We had lunch at the Area BFE parking lot and got to play around on the Test Area for BFE

Here is Tims and my rig parked at the lunch spot

Soon we headed back to the start of the trail

Overall it was a great day. The only carnage on the whole run was a torn sidewall and was changed quickly.

Day 3 was the first day I lead Moab Rim with a bigger group. I did not take any pictures because I was busy driving up all the obsticles without spotting and running back down to help everyone else. I am stealing this trip report from Alex (handlebars) on NAXJA:

I love this trail. One thing I love most about it is how its off camber ledges, combined with copious cliff exposure, regularly scares the crap out of flatlanders driving sky high rigs who are in Moab for the first time. Yet many people with near stock Jeeps make it to the Rim with careful spotting and driving.

Here is Michael doing just that, on 31’s and open diffs:

Fear is no friend here…

Mrs. Lobster spots for Mr. Lobster on the Devil’s Crack

Jared maintains steady 4 point contact with the ground at all times. Sometimes the fourth point is the bumper.

Rick’s lightweight buggy thing crawled up the Z-Turn with ease

Squaring up on this ledge near the top made for some tippy moments

Everyone took a breather when the trail finally leveled out

Coming back down

Gravity helps out on the trip down Z-Turn

Josh is glad his first time on this trail is during daylight

Trail leader Tom did a great job of getting everyone through without carnage

Day 4

The plan was to run Pickle and Rusty Nails, but because of a late start we only ran Pickle. This was the first time I had ever run Pickle and it was not disapointing. A short trail but definately a harder more exciting trail. This was also a day that I got to take pictures and go back to spotting because my wife, Becky drove out after work from Colorado to take her spot in the drivers seat and enjoy the rest of the time in Moab.

Thanks to Derrick for showing and leading us thru this trail!!!!

After a long winding dirt road we pulled off onto a sandy wash. We got out to make sure everyone was ready and I thought to myself where the heck are we and this doesn't look like much.

But that thought soon changed after we started up the canyon and came to the first set of ledges.

Further up the canyon we came upon a cool looking formation but just around that we came upon the narrow portion that gave the trail its name "Pickle"

Next came a ledge that look small compared to the others but definately was harder than it looked.

It flattened out for a short time, so I thought I would get a couple of on the go pics

We came to the end of the trail with the exiting obsticle in front of use. It is a set of ledges that are bigger than any of the others. What a great trail with some big obsticles.
