no buS????

Ok heres what happened. 99 Cherokee. I was driving and my air bag light came on, then all my gauges died and my check engine light came on. Then the mileage meter changed from miles to saying "no buS". After a while it went away. WTF

Anyone have this happen and know what caused this and how it can be fixed?

Thanks man. It didnt say in there, but do you think it could have been caused from welding on the jeep? Mine doesnt shut off or anything, its just the gauges, so Im pretty sure its not the CPS.

If you get NO-BUS and the engine continues to run, it's most likely the instrument cluster. The plug on the backside gets corroded.

As long as your ground clamp is close to you work area, welding has no effect on the Jeep.

X2, from a no buS survivor. It's just a loose connection out back. Whenever mine would come on in my old TJ I just hit the top of the cluster, and that always worked

Orrrrr you could be not as lazy as I and take it out to check those connections. Either way.
