Decided to take the trim off today, I usually think XJs look better with the trim on, but all of the pieces were starting to peel at the ends, and the littlest piece mounted on the front fender was pretty close to falling off. Actually ended up being bigger of a job than I anticipated, took me just over an hour per side, scraping all the adhesive off with a plastic putty knife and my moms hair dryer, then I doused the area in Goo Gone. It seemed to come out pretty good.

I got another subwoofer :

LED light bar mod!

And a shot of the XJ in the rain today:

Anyhow, I'm pretty sure I'm going to The University of Maine for Mechanical Engineering. I attended accepted students day this past weekend, saw a couple lifted XJs, and a couple wranglers. Wondering if there anyone on JF who goes there?

That LED bar looks good! Got more details on it? I assume its tied into the brake lights?

I live in Portland, ME. Will you be attending in Orono?

Yeah, its going to be mounted to the lip at the back of the hatch, just below the handle, its reverse from how it is used on a pickup. Its not mounted yet in those pictures i had i mocked up with my hand. I have to get some angle aluminum from the machine shop tomorrow. And yeah ill be at the main campus in Orono, I took 295 thru portland to get there.

Hah i was looking through your build and the exact same thing happened to me on one of my end links... I just used a 10mm button die and threaded it. I didn't have enough funds for quality disconnects

Its a 49" from a company called Anzo USA, it was 14 bucks on amazon, i wanted the one with the reverse lights, but they were going for around $70, and I knew i was gonna have to mod it a little, so I went with the cheap one

is this the "secret project"? or is that still in the works?

With the LED bar and VIC, you've got 2 nice write ups to do.

Update: I've ordered some new H4 bulbs, wasn't very impressed by the autopal bulbs. I got Hella 80/100W, people who reviewed them said they were a good bulb upgrade if you were still using a stock wiring harness

Also, I have decided to attend Wentworth Institute of Tech. for Electromechanical Engineering
