Next upgrade help

Allright guys, here is where I'm at. I REALLY want to make the XJ bigger, but I'm wondering if the new lift is the wisest way to spend the money right now. I'm gonna be on about an 800 dollar budget, so here is what I'm looking at.

Number 1 (lift, tires, and sye):
Go ahead and get the 6.5" lift, then sell my 3" lift and use that money to put towards a sye and driveshaft, then sell the 31" tires and use that money to go towards larger tires. It would end up being more expensive, but I could sell off some of the upgraded pieces to fund the next steps.

Number 2 (bumpers and winch):
Get a front winch bumper and winch to go with my new rear bumper with tire carrier. Looking at the Nates 4x4 winch bumper and the XRC8 winch to go on it. There are better bigger setups out there, but no more than I think I would use it, I believe this would be enough for me.

Number 3 (locker and armor):
An Aussie locker for the front with diff armor and a set of rock sliders for the rocker protection.

Number 4:
Anything I either haven't thought of yet, or a combo of the above.

I'm REALLY leaning towards number 1, but I don't want to spend my money and wish I would have went another way. Just gonna get some of you guru's opinions....

big lifts are overrated! get the locker and sliders. don't forget front recovery if you don't have it already.

Everything on the list is gonna get installed, it's just a matter of time and money. Just trying to decide on what to do first. As for front recovery, all I've got right now are the factory tow hooks. I know, I know, they suck and won't work. That's where the new front bumper and winch come in at...lol I originally wanted to just throw some spacers and shackles onto my 3" lift and go to 33's, but I would have to change out so much other stuff, I think I would be better off just going with a whole new lift. I decided on the 6.5 so I could step up to 35's at some point when I beef up the axles.

why not keep your 3" lift, trim and run some 33s? I ran 33s on 2.25" lift for a little while. your front tow hooks will be better than nothing. i would still armor and lock it up..IMHO...

I agree, number 3. I'd think 3" w/locked 33's would be a stout setup. Then go with the bumper and winch.

#3 I think will get you further down the trail depending on where you wheel. Rocker protection is needed, and a locker shouldnt be given a second thought, 2 if possible on the trails around here.

Well, been giving it alot of thought. I think I might hold off on the locker for a little bit and concentrate on the bumper/winch/rockslider option. Does anyone know of a reasonable place to get a set of sliders at? The prices I'm finding are rediculous to say the least!!!

Before your done your rig will be fully caged, custom skids, crazy winch bumpers, rack that you put everything but your dog on.

I know thats where I'm headed with my Bronco....LOL.

So what kind of welder did you get?

Oh, and as for going to weld, I wish I could. I left out this morning for work. It'll be 30 days before I get home again. Got lots of it planned for when I'm home though...LOL
