New Shoes for the XJ

Thought I'd give myself a present and bought new tyres for the XJ.
I opted for Good Year Wrangler Ultra Grip, 225/70R16, the standard make and size the XJ came from the dealer.
Sounds pretty American isn't it?

Wrong, read the small print, made in Germany... (nothing wrong with that though)

I have 15's on my 98 but I thought 16's were an option in the last two years of production. As a side note, the new Cherokee made MSN's list of 15 ugliest cars.

Yes they did. The wheels above are called "Icon" wheels and they were available on the Cherokee Limited in 2001. Im not sure about other years.

There were also 16" wheels which were identical to the 5.9 ZJ Limited wheels on the "Anniversary" model Cherokee
