Hello all. I've been lurking on this site for a couple of weeks and finally decided to register. I am a new Jeep owner. I just picked up a 1996 Cherokee Sport for $1,200 from one of the local junkyards. There were only a couple of things wrong with it. It needed a new shift solenoid since it would not downshift into 1st gear when hot and the neutral safety switch needed to be cleaned. I feel like I got a steal of a deal considering what was wrong with the Jeep. Here are a couple of pictures that I snapped.

Nice find! I would have bought that to save it from the buzzards at the bone yard as well. Very clean Jeep.

I thought it was a good find too. I've been looking for a summer project and this is it. I also wanted a vehicle that had a good online following so I could easily find information and contribute where I could. From what I can tell so far, this is a great community of enthusiasts.

Sounds like I'm in good company. The rear panel isn't dented though. It just looks that way in the picture. Dang phone camera. I see you've done quite a bit of work to your XJ. Looks good.
