New (to me) '97 XJ sport

Found my next rig. '97 4-dr white XJ sport. 70k miles, white, zero rust.

Gonna keep it close to stock; Neon EV-4 injectors, headers, and maybe an aussie/spartan up front, maybe run the intake to the cowl, some lights and 31's on close to stock ride height.

Wow?! 70K I bought a really nice clean Upcountry back in February for 6K with 120K miles on it. I love my Jeep to death as it was well taken care for but I might cry and when I see more pictures of yours. What price did you pay? I can't wait to hear from you.

I'm in Elgin, IL. So about 45-60 minutes from you. Have fun filling up in Chicago .

Erik

Haven't picked it up yet. Going tomorrow to take it home. It was referred to me by a guy in my class, says his neighbor wants ~$4k, but might negotiate. Either way if it's half as cherry as it sounds it's gonna be mine. Undercoat the bajeezus out of it and put some sacrificial anodes on it. Probably keep this as my dd/occasional capable wheeler since i have my '94 that i may deem a roadworthy trail rig. I wanna put on fullwidth axles also so that will be a good time to patch the '94's rust issues and slap on frame stiffeners.

Checked it out today and this thing is nice. Factory vinyl floors, whole interior is in primo condition. NP242, 70100 mi. EXT IDLE switch (cop jeep!), Full factory skid set (tank skid, front valence skid, transfer case skid from the x-member. Unfortunately it has a D-35 rear but it can be worth it if it is trac-loc equipped, at least hold postpone me putting an 8.8 into it. new exhaust and brake lines. ABS. Engine is in awesome condition.

Mine for $5k. Picking it up on Monday.

Rides smooth and runs quiet as hell. Owner seriously minded this ride. Factory undercoating is still there and not a speck of rust. He said he got rear ended a few months ago and got got all the body work done. Its got a new bumper and endcaps, but the back hatch doesn't open so well. Other than that the vehicle is in excellent condition. Jeep is completely de-badged except the "Jeep" on the front clip and liftgate. Paint looks like it's never seen the sun. Small discoloration on the driver rear rain channel like it's waiting to rust. Gotta think of a cool project name.

Well turns out it wasn't an actual cop vehicle but a Maryland parks and services vehicle. Auction sale. Hit a corner with the gas mashed and it made that *shuff-shuff* lsd noise. so i confirmed a LSD D-35 rear.
