Neutral Safety Switch

A while ago I replaced my NSS with one for $50 on Ebay because my jeep wouldn't start and I got the P0705 code, all fixed and everything is fine. A few thousand miles later I get the P0705 code but I'm able to start the vehicle in Park and Neutral except being able to start in gear, and the reverse lights are fine.

I've erased the code several times and it just reappears. I've bought a new NSS, but I'm kinda curious, is putting in a new NSS fix a P0705 code? Or are there other things I could look at?

*Didn't realize this is in non-technical*

It could be wiring related, however the NSS would be the main suspect, especially a $50 one from EBay. A new one from the dealer runs about $200

Ha, I just bought a $50 one off ebay as well. I'll clean and keep the OEM part as a replacement, but I'm tired of not being able to start the damn jeep.

Weird that the code came back. Is that specifically what that code is for? All the times that I have not been able to start the jeep because of the NSS, I've never gotten a check engine light for it.
