Need to trim rear for 33"s?

3 Attachment(s)
I'm running a 5" lift and I've already trimmed the front and relocated the flares and I'm currently running 31"s. I'm getting 4.56 gears because I want to buy 33s. I also have Detours rear bumper. What I'd like to know is can I get away with just increasing my bump stops or will I have to trim the rears for the 33"s?. If I need to trim I'll need to mod the bumper and probably cut and fold the quarters.

Front looks fine but the rear is going to be a close fit. I say instead of trimming just lift the rear a tad bit more. Bumpstopping will be needed to keep the tires out of fenders also.

cut it up :)

I've got a 4.5" lift and I trimmed both my front and rear fenders. The fronts had to be trimmed because at full turn they rubbed and I trimmed the back just to keep them all even. However, all of the tires fit into the wheel wells easily without trimming and stock flares do you may be able to get away with it. I just wouldn't expect much flex room in the rear. I would hate to see those nice bumper caps cut up hahaha.

Oh and I have 33" Pro Comp Xtreme MT2s

Hardly any trimming is necessary if you are bumpstopped properly. Only reason I trimmed was to do my boatsides. Have TONS of room with 33's

What size lift do you have?

You're going to kill uptravel because of the flares in the rear but down travel is more important anyway. You could just remove the flares but it looks goofy doing that and not trimming. Only downside to trimming is you're going to want 35s if you trim.

3.5" and 33s trimmed and my bumpstops aren't long at all. You can see how far back you'll have to go with the bumper to trim though. It flares out a lot towards the back.

I am also running 33's on a 3.5" lift with stock bumpstops in the rear I did minor trimming maybe 1" at most

About 6".

And it's not all about down travel.

Thanks for the responses. So the front should be okay. The rear I'll need to trim and bumpstop, I've already extended the rear stop by two inches with a piece of square stock. I could always add on. To tie the rear flares in I used the old cladding and cut and shaped it to blend them into Detours bumper. Moving them up I'll get a gap but, if I can find more cladding I could fit a piece in there I image.

The only trimming that I had done on my 4.5 in was for the flat flares.

Thanks!

But mine isn't even close to long. Some people in the non tech section here have less build tech than mine and have over 100 pages of chit chat.
