My 96 came stock with chrome finished mirrors. I want either some black OEM mirrors or a set of aftermarket mirrors

It's no that hard to swap on 97+ mirrors, too. They're bigger and can fold in. Search around for a write up.

I was in the same predicament. Bought my XJ when I was 17 on a high school budget and had to wait 2 years until I lifted it. Now I'm in college and on a tighter budget but piecing my new lift together. You can always opt for a junkyard lift. My 4" lift cost less than $200. Look at my build thread to check it out. Make buddies with close forumers and local groups to get some great deals and free parts. Stores also have discounts for groups, like 4wp etc.

Just a warning, this build may end up on hold. I am going to speak with Marine recruiters Tuesday morning.

I'm not, I'm either doing something IT based or engineering based.
