My lazy 2000 2-door build and you can help!

Picked up a 2000 SE 4.0 with a little over 114k a couple weeks ago. This will be a toy that I'll use for camping, trails, and a little light boat towing. It was a municipal vehicle so it's doesn't have power doors or windows but it has cruise, skid plates, ABS, trac-lock and a tow package. Biggest plus is that it's rust free. Zero. None.

Plan is to build it little by little. Interior comfort first, rims, lift, etc. thinking OME 2.5ish or around there and 31x10.5's for now. So far I bought a reprogrammed full gauge cluster to replace the dumb cluster and a 4 switch bezel that'll house fogs and a high idle eventually. Also had all the fluids changed and it got a clean bill of health from my mech.

So I'm open to suggestions and input for the build. Wheels need to be chosen too. Thinking Alcoas like on my last 65th TJ maybe powder coated black. I like the storm trooper white on black. Oh I also bought some clear front signals too. Not the cheap euro eBay ones but the ones like stock except clear. If I like them good. If not I'll keep it stock.

Okay without using the search because remember, the title says I'm lazy, tell me more about what an "Overland" is? Could this be what I'm trying to make this Jeep into?

Overlanding is long range offroading, sometimes into the 100s of miles. great for camping and is more about the road and destination than it is about obstacles.

Picked up a set of 5 Alcoa forged rims off a RME. Waiting on shipping for them. 15x8's. I'll swap my current tires which are fairly new until I decide on a lift.

The Jeep also showed it's true colors when I went to open the rear hatch the other day. Nothing. Awesome. Common issue I know but it's closed and I don't have power locks. Tried the push pull and still nothing. FML. Glad I have my wife's jogging stroller, full size spare, and misc. crap back there to pull out so I can pull the panel! Oh well.

Nice XJ! Don't see many two doors. I'm not too far away from you in Storrs, CT.

Figured I'd update my slow progress. Picked up this bad boy:

That's right, it's from an Omni GLH, complete with drip pan! The vent for it should come in tomorrow. Now to find a nice donor hood so I don't hack up my original. I'm going single vent offset to the pax side where most guys use the LeBaron twin vents. Strictly for looks in my case. Also if anyone has a lead on an Ext. Idle switch let me know. Apparently the dealer that had it in stock couldn't find it. Bummer.
