My 95 XJ 2 door build

Hey all, just thought I would share my ongoing project with ya'll, as well as some thoughts on where I'm headed next. Feel free to pump up my ego or criticize as needed...

Started off with this:

Ended up upgrading the interior some. Redid the headliner and added some Grand Cherokee leather seats:

Then added a rear bumper with tire carrier:

Got a set of sliders and winch bumper with a Warn M8000 bolted up. This is how it set:

Didn't like how the bumper stuck out, so I traded it off for another project... Didn't like how that project was turning out, so I traded it off for a 7" lift for the XJ. Ended up trading the winch for a set of 35" MT's and an Aussie for the front end. Work in progress:

After alot of work, this is what I ended up with:

Took it out to play for the first time and see how it worked:

And ended up with this:

Next up I'm working on either a built 8.8 or 8.25 and regear. I'll do a SYE when I get a chance, but as of right now, I have no driveline vibes, so it's not a major deal.

Thanks for the compliments guys! There are a few other odds and ends done to the jeep like upgraded the tie rod to a ZJ rod and some skids underneath. Little things like that. 4:1 in the transfer case and a 2LO kit are hopefully gonna be installed within the next year. Have to do something about a front bumper and put another winch on. Need some rock lights...does it ever end?

Yup, I got the Grand seats in the rear too, if you will look at the pic above, you can see them peeking around the corner back there...LOL. I will see if I can find some better pics of the rear seat. The front was VERY easy. I unbolted the leather seats, and bolted them to my manual sliders and put them back in my jeep. To get the power to working on them, I have to find a set of power sliders out of an XJ. I'm still searching the junkyards for a set. No luck yet. The back seat was a tight fit, and I had to take a BFH to the inside of my rear fender wells to make it fit perfect. After they are in, they look factory though. I HIGHLY recomend them!

I ended up getting them from a local JY. Paid 50 a piece for the front and 30 for the rear. Not too bad. The only bad spot on them is on the rear seat. Has a small split up at the top.

Headliner was easy! Hardest part was removing it from the jeep. Take out the inside trim and slide out you existing headliner board out the rear. Be careful and remove the factory material from the fiberglass board. Take a rough scrub brush and clean all the foam off the fiberglass board. I ended up buying some really thick cloth from a fabric store, its almost like a felt in thickness. Trimmed it and glued it in with a lot of 3m spray glue. Snapped the visors apart and trimmed the fabric for them and snapped them back together. Reassemble. Only took a full afternoon and really helped the looks of the inside!

Just bought a trussed 8.25 29 spline with Alloy shafts, 4.56 gears, and a powertrax locker. Hope to get it put in within the next couple of weeks, and then regear the front to match. It's starting to come together!
