So I found this at the junkyard yesterday, a '00 without the pre-cats (it was a WJ not an XJ). I am going to try and find that down pipe online.

And a little flex shot from last night:

Nice jeep. Kinda looks like mine.

BTW- don't remove those precats, it's against federal law. And you cannot just remove the cats or 02 sensors, you have 4, and it will immediately notice the lack of precats and run like ****.

I agree that removing the pre cats will run like poop but legally as long as he does not have to register his XJ in the state of CA he can. He would only break a federal law if he removed the third cat under the jeep since that's all non CA emission package came with.

I don't want to start a debate but legally you cannot tamper with ANY emissions equipment.

It's not worth it, he'd need all the wiring and a different 2000 model computer, that isn't looking for the 2 downstream sensors.

So the TRE on the IRO track bar had gone bad after not even 10k miles and I greased the crap out of it...

So I got this:

After installing it I almost have to say I think the TRE I got was defective. The double sheer mount drives so much better than the TRE did brand new. Now I can go over bumps and have my steering wheel not go all over the place.

Wow nice header!
I've yet to see one installed on a 2001 xj.
I'd like to see if you gain any power.
