I am with you, never really understood why its called that. Its just the term that I thought most people would recognize with. One of my buddy's mentioned "murdering it" and just stuck to that.

yeah man, I completely understand...No problem with wanting to black everything out, I just think of "Murdered Out" with the tuner crowd.

Paint is overrated . I am just ready to get mine sorted out again so I can go back out and play. Plus I have to wait at least until my raise kicks in with my new job. Another 2 weeks to go.

It is overrated for you. I just don't like the faded paint look.

Lol....my paint is too far gone. Like I said, it is just the clear on yours. You may be able to save it with a color sand and a coat of clear on the bad parts......or you can look for a black XJ at LKQ and replace the faded clear panels...lol.

The roof is bad and the hood is getting there. I can get a pretty cheap, high quality paint job from one of my brothers buddies. If I do all the prep work he will paint it the same day I bring it to him. Probably gonna stick with black.

I know man, its was fun. Need to get most of the Uni group to get out and go wheeling! Maybe even plan a trip to Disney for the Tulsa Uni's.

I've thought about monstaliner. Your smurf blue looks good. One of my other jeep buddies monstalinered his jeep and it looks good also but it's more exotic than a normal paint job. The only difference between yours and his though, besides color, is that he sprayed his on and you rolled yours. Yours seem to be more textured, thicker, than his. Just not the biggest fan of textured paint.

Fair enough. If you're worried about the texture holding in dirt, it doesn't at all. Just sayin'

It looks like it is. Haven't seen roll on in person but it looks a bit thicker from pictures.
