Probably? It is at my buddys shop, and he has had 2 solid weeks of un-crusting and working on old commuter bikes and BIG box store junk. Warm weather is bringing out the stuff that has been in the back yard under a tree all winter! lol
He was happy to work on some new stuff, and his Banshee Legend DH bike that he is loaning to a grass roots DH racer (like 14 years old).
If you are ever on Vancouver Island, go check out Sooke Mountain Cycle!!

2000 Klein Adroit Race.
Unfortunately that's just a stock photo and one from someone's sale ad as I actually don't have any photos of my bike. Gonna have to change that.

Still don't have any of my own photos, but getting new wheels built for it as soon as I can find a good deal on a rim for the front.
Yeah, this is my way of giving the thread a bump.

Kool Klein... loved those back in the day. I had a choice between one of those, or a Brodie Rocket for a few bucks less. Opted for the Rocket (back in 1996) and never looked back.
Manitou was so much nicer than the Judy's back then.

Wow, Judy...that brings back memories. It felt like everyone and their moms had a Judy at one point. I've definitely been feeling a little nostalgia lately as I've been part-searching for new wheels and confronting the fact that my bike is already considered "vintage." I first got into the sport around 97-98. Schwinn was still a real bike that commanded respect. GT I-drive was a thing. "Softtails" were a thing (these should really come back--would work really well for 29ers). Fox was beginning to to make mtb forks. Splined bb's were cutting-edge stuff. Disc brakes were still uncommon. My beloved racing tire--Bontrager Revolt Super X was still being made

The bicycle industry is a funny thing. "Innovations" are not done to create a better bike, but to convince the gullible that their old bike is hopelessly outdated and that they need to buy a new one.
Take headsets and bottom brackets as an example.
10 years ago, the bearings on the headsets were in larger, external cups, and the bottom bracket bearings were internal, inside the bottom bracket shell.
Now, we're supposed to believe it makes more sense to move the headset bearings inside the head tube (often riding on a non-replaceable surface that's part of the head tube itself!) and the bottom bracket bearings have moved to external, larger cups, and that's supposed to be better. Like we were having problems with external cup headsets or internal bottom brackets!
Disc brakes are the cat's anus if you ride in mud or the wet a lot. But if you don't, your old-school rim brakes will work just fine. I really miss my old canti brakes - if you know how to set them up, you get the kind of modulation that discs provide, but they're lighter, cheaper and simpler than disc brakes. I could do easy one-finger nose wheelies on my MTB when it still had front canti brakes... I miss them (can't find a modern shock fork set up to use cantis any longer...).

Pretty much. The headsets and BB are great examples of the industry just fiddling around. Drivetrains get a lot of this, too--I ride a 9-speed cassette and a 3-ring crankset not because I NEED all that but because that was the standard at the time. No mountain biker should need that many gear combinations, and now 10x2 is a thing. For XC and all-mountain (used to be called freeride--more nostalgia), give me two rings and a 7 or 8 speed cassette I think.
Well, some of their arbitrary "innovations" can lead to real innovation, so I can tolerate it. I wish people wouldn't be so gullible, though. This is a picture thread though, so I think I'll stop being all off-topic now.
