Props for the amount of fabrication involved with that, but man is it ugly.

I saw that a few weeks ago and while it IS quite impressive, it is pretty ugly. I won't totally condemn it as ugly until I see it painted to match the rest of the vehicle--hard for me to evaluate it fairly while it is clashing so hard with the rest of the XJ. Here is a link to the guy's CherokeeForum.com profile (http://www.cherokeeforum.com/members/mccawley-99065/). Here is a thread where he ends up discussing some of what went into it (http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/barn-doors-xj-131956/).

I also would love to see it painted, but I don't think it looks terrible now. It does certainly stand out.

I want to read through his CF threads later and see if he has details posted about his dash mods. Looks like he has redone some of the trim, changed vents, changed headlight switch added other switches (winch control maybe?)

I've always been partial to suvs that have a tailgate type rear end. You can sit on the tailgate and the window overhead can keep you dry-ish.

Sort of related to this. I'd really like the hatch window to roll down.

I think the paint is what kills it. Matched red I think it would look good. I'm impressed the guy even took the time to make the inside of them look factory with the door panels. The whole thing is very impressive imo.
