Small update

Went to Lil Moab and did some rockcrawling this past weekend. I pushed it further than I have in the past cause I have a longer wheelbase now compared to my YJ and done some obstacles that were real steep.

Then I could here my tailpipe bottom out. Well the rear exhaust hanger was rusted and finally broke.
So I forked out $ 3 for a new hanger and cut 6 inches off the tailpipe.

Im really lovin the auto tranny and the ability to creep up over stuff.

Wheelin pics

Went wheelin with some of the Utah crew. 2 days and 200 miles.

Forgot to add this . I installed my CB before the trip.

Used a cell-phone style CB antenna and put it on the upper left of the rear window.
Works really well.

First part of trip, still clean. (sort of)

Invaded Little Moab with jeeps.

Near the end of day 2.

Lots of wheelin

A few weeks after that trip. We went to moab for a 2nd time this year.

The next weekend I went and scouted out a trail I've been wondering about.

And the weekend after that I went with a few grands to scout the 2nd half of the trail.

I think I got the wheeling bug out of me for a few months anyway.
So I cleaned, waxed and detailed the Jeep before the snow flies and then took it in for a much needed alignment. Front tires were wearing too fast on the outside edge.

The toe was out big time.

Once that was adjusted. It fixed the camber issue.

It rides soooo much better and the steering wheel is center now.
Seems to accelerate/coast better since the toe-in created drag a bit.

Finally got some winter floormats for the front today.
Universal but I like how deep they are. Seem to hold snow good.

Went and played in the snow a bit.

Recovered a truck that a Toyota avoided pulling out.

haha thats funny! i love how these YOTA guys think their 4 runners are just the most capable thing off road, but when asked to help pull someone out or climb a hill, has some type of an excuse... my buddy has one and i only have a 3" lift with 30's on it and he wont follow me to half the places... and this is in OKLAHOMA, he just like mud puddles and flings mud on that thing then drives it homes and leaves it like that for weeks at a time.

Alignment update

I drove it on the freeway yesterday. First time since alignment.
Wow what a difference. Once Im at speed and cruise-control is on, I can hardly hear the engine. A lot straighter and even improved my MPG's , at one flat point it read 19-22mpg's . Still gotta change the speedo gear one day to get a more accurate reading. But right now im impressed.

Amazing at how a bad alignment can make your vehicle feel and not knowing it till I got it aligned .

Added some more info I found about the factory winch above.

Tomorrow Im gonna ditch the airdam and trim under the bumper So I can see under there and get started on making that winchmount here soon. I'd like to get it done by mid febraury. Probably go pick up steel Saturday.

In the meantime a few weeks ago I was given some green LED light strips for x-mas and I thought maybe I'll put em' under the dash for a nice green glow but... they are way too bright for that. I stuck em' to the front cross-bar that supports the rack. Kinda cool lookin .
I call them my "Alien invader lights" or "drifter lights" . Cant have em' on if cops are near cause it looks like a thin green lightbar that's bright as hell.
Also makes a funky fog light. The signs light up green when I pass.
Pics when I get more work done .

Also found my airbags that I had from back in the lowrider days .
Have 4 bags :: 2 small double bellow bags and 2 single bellow's .Im sure I'll use the single bellows.
Came with some brackets too . Have to see what I can use.
That's the next project ; Overloads.

Well. I finally did it . Busted out the sawzall and trimmed the airdam. Had to be carefull not to hit the wiring plugs for the towbar. For now I tucked em up out of the way.
The receivers for the tow-bar are 1-1/2" and I was trying to find some d-ring mounts to put in but they are all 2 inch so I may have to fab something up. I have some D-rings I can use , just need the shackle ends to put in.

Some latest pics .
The LEDs .
Kinda silly I know, but I don't use em' much. They plug into the cig lighter.

Went for a long drive out in the west desert exploring.
Trying out my new camera . Panaramic view.

Here you can see the bumper trimming. Looks much better.

Brought My buddie too. He's wearing his new hoodie . He always looks that grumpy.
