Im happy I got this done before the trip Ive been planning all winter, a sort of expedtition "winter desert run" is what im calling it. Getting a few jeeps together for a camp/trail run. Should be cold and fun. Going to burn lots of firewood . Hoping for snow.

Come to Hel,MT. Camping is all about roughing it. I'll show you where there's enough snow, you'll definitely need that winch...and it's only -20°.

Im not a big DP fan so I painted them black to blend in better.

I was wondering what to do with the inner fender wells for awhile and came up with this.
I made a straight cut just under the flare and pushed the liner into the end-cap but it was too tall so I made another cut below that to make a pie-cut.
Holds and works perfectly.

Here's the end result .

Side view.
Also making caps for the tops of the endcaps. Where the flare ends .

Then took it out to test the winch and also Pre-tentioned the cable . Finally got to use my revovery bag wich has 3 d-rings, 2 straps , 2 metal tire stops, winch control .

Looks better with the cable wound up properly .

Its beer 30 .

.
Are you gonna put a gap gaurd over the top?

Perhaps the gap gaurd from a pre'96 rear bumper would fit perfectly.

This came out well. The line where the fender and bumper meet is a little awkward, but functionality trumps that IMO.

Thanks guys.
Couldn't avoid that bumper/fender line but one good thing is I don't rub there anymore when flexed.

Some more mods soon.

Sending it in to get the rear fixed next Tuesday. Full rebuild new R&P, bearings ect. Should take care of the wine I have at (only) 40mph.
This was due to when I put the OX in and it was 1 thousandths tight but still in spec. Never herd it under the YJ but it picks it up with the unibody.

Also ordering my frame stiffeners in a few days.

..

Picked up a K&N OE style filter for those long dusty roads.

I actually parked the XJ for a week or 2. Trying to get the bad gas out of the YJ that im getting ready to sell here shortly.
