Moab with 285/75r16 rub???

Just wanted to get your input.

I'm in need of wheels and tires soon. Been searching for a while and found a set of 5 moab 16's with Uniroyal 245/75r16 on them now. Asking price is $500.

Once I wear them out, I'm planning to go with 285/75r16. I've got a 4.5" and wanted to know if any has this setup and rubs? Front or rear.

Since finding them, I'm depating if I should go with steel. I currently have 15x8 with 3.25bs. No problems with rubbing at all.

Most of the wheeling I do is mud. Sometime small rocky stuff but that's if it happens to be on the same trail. In south florida, I haven't run into much rock trail. The only place I know of is in Ocala and that's a long drive.

XJ is my daily driver. If I go with Moab's they will have AT's that's close to 32". I'll put some kind of MT on my current wheels.

space the wheels out and you'll be fine

What's you guys thought? Steel vs Moab? Is it preference? Better tire combo?

Thanks..

Where in Miami are you?

I had Moabs on 285/75/16 and on an RE 3.5" and it was good but if I flexed the fenders popped off, at least the fronts. The Moab rim has 5" of backspacing.

Some pictures to help visualize at Ocala.

I'm in north miami. What kind of tire are your running?

I've been searching and found Summit has a set of 5 - 15x8 with 3.75bs for around $215.

Still deciding if I should go steel or moab. Anyone have summit wheels? Any problems?

I had 285/75s on Moabs at 5" of lift for a week or 2, without spacers they rubbed the control arms at full lock but other then that they were fine.

After finding those Summit wheels. I'm second guessing going with those Moabs....

I have 305/70s on my Moabs with 1.25" spacers on a 4.5" lift. Without trimming they rub in the front a lot. They of course look way better than steel, but tires are more expensive

At that time I think I had Nitto A/Ts. However I have 35s on JK 17's now.

Moabs look nicer in my opinion, but it is up to you.
