I ordered straight from their website. Entered the JeepForum discount. Got 'em the next week.

Glad to hear the BrownDog mounts are doing well, still need to get to that. Jeeps looking great, too bad you arent closer to the eastern side of the state over there, im just not all that close to any JF member at all. Wish we could sonehow coordinate a JF XJ section meet n greet/trail ride somehow, itd be sweet to get us all in on the same trails.
It could be done...........some would have to drive more than others but it could be done. Be pretty cool, what I imagine the NAXJA groups would be like - a whole line up of XJs running the trails.

When I start the Jeep it is much smoother, it doesn't torque the vehicle as it starts up and when I shut it off it just stops instead of "dieseling down", as I call it. The only way to describe it is it just feels like the motor is more solid under the hood instead of bouncing/jerking around when it turns over, under load, or stops.

Got some general maintenance done yesterday/today and while rotating the tires I finally got around to pulling the rear sway bar:

Didn't feel like finding a place to flex it but I'm sure it'll make at least a little difference in the rear flex.

This thing is swayless now............. Oh my GOD!!.........

I thought that's what the steering wheel was for............

I'm not worried about it. I don't drive this thing on the highway at all for the most part. Short trips, work, around town - 15 mile round trips at the long end.

Yeah - I never pulled it because I was dollying the XJ when I'd wheel. So, I wanted the rear to be as "anti-sway" as it could. Now that it's a grocery getter/trailer queen - no need for the rear sway. I just hadn't gotten around to it yet. It hasn't had a front since I bought it - so I wouldn't know the difference as far as that goes.

Hey, Lee, what's up man?

How's things on the east side?

I was just looking through your build. Pics of Wa$hita are great - reminds me of SMORR. Did you ever get a chance to come this way and hit-up KS Rocks?
You're liking the hydro steer no doubt?

Still have not managed to get out your way. The club took over Wa$hita and it has consumed a ton of my weekends clearing trails. Wa$hita is like smorr but granite. Fun combo. Hopefully this spring I will make it out West I will give you a heads up so you can show me around!

So far it is a big improvement.

There is a thread in the Missouri wheelin neighborhood about Wa$hita being sold. So, Midwest Jeep Thing owns the park now or are you guys managing it - or both?

No a tactical/gun training group bought the property. Midwest just helps with trail maintenance, vehicle recovery, and that crap. Took a bit to catch the park back up though

Friday after a bit of xtra trimming/straightening the cuts out in the front:

This morning - the aftermath of yesterday's sloppy wheelin:

The cooling system held up it's end of the bargain being the first trip out after revamping everything. I'd say overall it ran a little cooler than before - granted, the weather yesterday was in the mid 60s but still.

Had to do some trail wiring and cut the in-line fuse out of my cb power because the fuse was blown and we didn't have another - so, I'll have to rewire an in-line fuse into the cb set-up. Other than that came away from this trip unscathed.

I was looking things over this morning and noticed this:

Not the leaky seal, but the gap on the gearbox shaft to the pitman arm. It doesn't seem like it was that much before, but I can't say I really paid attention before other than knowing it was leaking. This look normal to anybody else?

So the last few start ups I've had coolant overflow at the radiator cap. Doesn't appear to send overflow to the reservoir tank. Now, all the cooling system was replaced a couple weeks back: radiator, water pump, t-stat, radiator hoses, fan clutch, rad cap, coolant, added a fan shroud - everything. Even pulled the heater core send/return hoses and ******d the crap outta them to clean all the gunk out. All the appropriate hoses get warm as it idles to operating temp. No overheating issues, even when I wheeled it last; efan kicks on appropriately. Wipe out the filler neck; check for any debris that might be fouling up the cap seal. Checked that the overflow tube isn't clogged and the reservoir, as well the nipple at the filler neck. It's not necessarily consistent either. It's got me kinda baffled. Only thing I can think of is the new rad cap is bad right outta the gate. I bent the ear tabs on the cap in to get it to seat tighter and ran it up - seemed to fix it.......... for now. Dunno...........

Normal to have a gap there. As long as the nut is torqued properly (175ft-lb) it'll be good

Guess I'll have to see if my torque wrench sets that high when I get a chance. Thanks!
