Took an idea from a fellow JF'er and went out and bought some HVAC floor register vents for $6 a piece. Took the adjustable flap out of it (2 seconds) then drilled holes along the edge and will be mounting it with 1/8" rivets. I will be trimming the bottom of it so that it's doesn't sink too far into the engine bay.

Here are what the GenRight Hood Vents look like.. for $60 + SHIPPING... pfftt lol

Well it was gorgeous outside today (+6 C) so I installed my hood HVAC vents lol... first time ever cutting into body, why not start with the middle of the hood haha.. install went very well, and it is a very clean look and functional.

Started with carboard templates..measured a few times

Masked off, cut inside the lines

j OO p

Took the instake hose off just incase, and also taped off the openings to avoid shard intake

Complete

Tires, wheels, flares, gears, locker need to happen all at once, so that's a bit of a bill at once

Well I just got my THOR Cowl Intake today.. I got it at 8pm this evening, and went out to install it in the dark on my driveway.. came out very well and it sounds nice a throaty at WOT.. not loud during cruising speeds or gradual acceleration

THOR Cowl Intake Kit

Stock air box removed

Used a 5" hole saw but that wasn't quite enough for top clearance..

So far, I really like it. Mine really doesn't start making much noise untill 2300-4000 RPM..but I really enjoy the noise lol.. Cruising is almost no sound at all.

I am very pleased with this product, and the throttle response seems to be a bit better, and gives a nice throaty sound

Nice.. any reason why you went with a manufactured intake over the stock box+a cowl snorkel setup?

I just like this setup and plumbing route better. And I get to take the stock air box out for more engine bay room, maybe for a 2nd battery in the future

While looking through older pics today I realized how old and gross the side molding looked.. so when I got home from work today I taped them off and painted them black..looks much better in my opinion.

I also tossed on my 2 friends company decal on, for local support "Torrent Offroad" (Purple of course), as well as 2 "cowl induction" decals

OLD AND GREY

1st Coat

3rd Coat
