I bought my first XJ in Apirl, 2011. I sold my 1993 Ford Ranger (with 9" of lift and 35's) I have since done a few things to it, but I know exactly where I want it to be when I am done with it.
Stock specs when bought:
- 2000 Jeep XJ Sport
- D30/C8.25 (open/open)
- 187,000 KM's
- 235/75R15 Kelly Safari TSR's (80% Tread)
- Ipod Alpine Deck
- Sony Speakers all around
Day I brought it home
Gave it a nice wash & wax
With wheeling being my background from my previous truck, I didn't want to be out of the game too long, so decided if I wanted to wheel it in the stock form, I needed to atleast protect everything underneath. So I found a front skid plate, ordered a transfer case skid, gas tank skid, rock sliders, front bumper, and HD rear diff cover.
After putting all this extra weight on, it sagged quite a bit with the saggy old suspension. So as a temporary fix I scrounged up from 2" lift leafs packs and some coil spacers up front.
After wheeling it in this state for a while, I decided I wanted to bring it into the Canadian Shield where our group wheels alot, so with that trip coming up this coming weekend I have been busy scrounging up some lift components and slapping together a TEMPORARY lift setup.
I ordered 1" block for the rear, along with longer rear shocks, an extended brake line, and my buddy said he had 3" lift coils, which ended up actually being 4.5" coils.. so I installed them and it looks like this...
So I had some Belltech 6400 shackles laying around, so I modified them to fit 2.5" wide leafs and put them on to level it out.
I ordered a HnT SYE with a refurb driveshaft as well as a Double Shear Track Bar (IRO). Also bought a "new" rear bumper/tire carrier... then I brought it to a place called "Rennie" which is on the Canadian Shield, I am still waiting on pics though
ROCK HARD 4x4 CARRIER (Beefy, and covers rear quarters, as well as underneath)
