My opinion is a 31 inch tire can go just as far as a 33+

Thats my bad, i ment to say I've seen 31's with a good lift go where 33's and lifted have.. But i would understand if your tires are bigger than a 33 it would have alot more clearance. But I also haven't seen any severe trails.

I just used some tremclad black paint. Nothing special, it holds up pretty well for what it is, and easy as hell to touch up.

I have to say, the difference between a 31" and a 33" tire isn't all that much. 1" Extra Clearance and about 1" extra footprint..I'd have to say I have seen A LOT of people on 31's follow any rig on 33's. I'd like to say it's all in the driver to overcome that "lost" inch of clearance, which isn't all that hard.

That being said, a locked rig on 31's and locked rig on 33's on identical lifts with the same driver are going to perform damn near identical.

All 33's do is get you into "That Club"

Every tire size jump will help tremendously. I really wouldn't want to waste time with 33s if i could help it, and go straight to 35s. I've spent plenty of time on my stupid 30s.

My buddy ran pritchett on 33s with trutracs. I don't think a rig with 31s would be following him there.

And, trail list for moab?

We're in Moab for wheeling from October 22-26 (5 days of wheeling) This is our first time down, and MOST of our rigs are being trailered but some may be driving there and back, which is a 3 days trip one way, so we are going to be doing some easier trails for the first go around, but may change after we get there.

Day 1 - Top Of The World
Day 2 - Fins n Things/Gold Bar Rim
Day 3 - Steel Bender
Day 4 - Poison Spyder Mesa
Day 5 - Hells Revenge

fins n things is really easy. i ran it in the dark without airing down with 5 people in my jeep and my buddy driving. run that first and skip top of the world. add cliff hanger, you can't miss that. steel bender and hells revenge can easily be done in one day. my friend ran poison spyder and he said it was very long. moab rim is a favorite you might want to add although it might be a stretch considering the trails you currently have on your list.

Once we get there, we will make a definate decision. We have made these choices based on the rigs that are going, which will all be pretty capable with at least 33's and one locker. We have a few full buggies coming with us as well, which will be taking their own paths for some of the trip. We are generally going down for the experience and to learn what's down there. Our next trip we will be more advised as to what we want to do. We have been planning this trip for about a year and a half now, so.

trail list is final. The point of this trip is not to push our rigs past there limits 1500 miles from home, trail selection was based on both scenic value and trail difficulty. As Chris stated this is the first of many trips to Moab with out group, were getting a feel for the trails and trail rating. It would be nice to get a few solid days of difficult wheeling befor we hit the hard ****. This trip is a vacation as much as it is a wheeling specific trip.

Also 31s can go very far, but 33s are so much better! Ill never go back to 31s, but there a great stepping stone, and make you appreciate 33s so much more.

Jay I wish you didn't go from a street tire (31) to a MT (33) so I could see the real difference though..I love comparative value!
