lt1 xj?

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars...okee_177223309

so, whaddya think? dealer says the guy traded it in on another car. they drive it around the block and it wouldn't shift outta first gear. He's not mechanically inclined so he does'nt know much more about it.

it's been sitting for a week or so, now it wont start. cranks fine, no run tho.

what year is this motor? i tried googling pics of an LT1 hopefully to identify what it was.

tell me what you guys think!

Interesting. For the price, just get an engine and tranny from the boneyard and scrap the LT1. I believe LT1's were built only for vettes and range a number of years, mostly in the 90's, I think. I have no idea as to why anyone would put a high performance V8 like the LT1 into an XJ. You might be able to sell the LT1 off for a good price to a vette owner.

you don't know why someone would put a high performance v-8 in an XJ?

c'mon, why would someone put 44" boggers on an XJ?

Because over-abundance is fun!

the unibody still has its OEM undercoat on it, so no, its not be stiffened.

Also the tires dont match.

It not shifting is most likely an electrical or computer issue. but for 1700$ for a V8 XJ in half decent shape, id buy it.

i was thinking comp issue too. yea i saw the tires lol, after the initial "holy crap im gonna drive 2hrs to buy it now!" i've decided against it... ... ... only because our xj isn't on the road right now(only vehicle). Otherwise it'd be alotta fun to figure out what's wrong, then beat all 5lbs of crap out of it!
