New Mexico Driving Rules...

As a general rule, the vehicle most in need of a significant amount of bodywork (for which the driver is most likely uninsured) always has the right of way.
Never use directional signals when changing lanes. They only serve to give away your next move, causing most NM drivers to speed up and not let you in. In fact, use of directional signals within most large NM city limits is actual illegal.
NM law states that at least 50% of all paved surfaces within the state must be under construction at any one time. In all construction zones, at least half of the available lanes must be closed, regardless of whether any actual construction is be accomplished or not. Construction signs shall be regularly repositioned in order to warn drivers about upcoming lane closures immediately after they pass the last exit before traffic backups.

Driving through constructions zones with upcoming lane closures is a popular game in NM. Itís called the "speed up and pass as many cars as you can, then see how close to the lane closure you can squeeze back into traffic before hitting any of the orange construction barrels" game.
I dunno either. I bought my xj with the cut fenders and bumper. But I was once driving west on 8th between park and theirman and me and this cop rolled slowly past eachother and he didn't do anything. He moreso had a smirk on his face like "cool!". He definately had the space to turn around and pull me over. With my old ZJ I had tinted tail lights and bright @&$! HID's in it. I was gettin off the evergreen exit at night and a cop was sittig there speed trappin people. I totally blinded him, could even see the whites of his eyes, no one behind me, and again he didn't do anything.

Anyways man, I'm excited to see this thing done! Good job finishing the front! The pile of stuff is looking good too

Sorry guys, we do have a fender flare law in Washington state. Technically, the tread of your tires must be covered to the centerline of your axle (parallel with the ground). No one really takes it that far, but if a cop sees you without flares and spitting mud/water/rocks everywhere, you'll get a $200ish ticket.

That might be why nothing happened to me yet. Mine don't stick out that far, only about an inch and a half. There are some brand new bushwackers for a 4 door xj on CL that are new never mounted, all hardware, just looks a little dusty for $200 obo. You should check those out!

Haha, thats funny. Then there is another 93ish XJ on tiny tires with a tall lift running around! I didnt get a great look at it. I was driving the work truck and i passed it going the other way and it caught my eye as it passed. And its all good, i'm a funny looking red head driving an XJ too :P. Its looking great though! Should finished that last leaf spring though. They dont take too much time at all, but doing it all after work would make for some tiring days for sure.

Don't torque leaf spring and shackle bolts until the weight of the Jeep is on the wheels - and don't reef on 'em once they are in. Also, you're a lot better off to rotate your cinder blocks 90* so that the openings face up. They will crumble pretty easily the way you have them but if you turn them on their side, they are structurally sound. Otherwise, HF sells some great 6 ton units for around $40 that go up high enough for my Jeep.
