well im not sure if i am just retarded or what but my buddy and i took off the front axle to clean and replace bushings, and add a 3inch lift now we got all 4 arms atached and cant get the springs back under. it looks like were not geting a lot of travel?? does anyone have any ideas where we went wrong or wtf is going on here because i sure dont http://www.jeepforum.com/ubb/brickwall.gifnt and its driving both of us crazy
please help!!! here are some pics hope someone can see the problem here. the lca are hitting the shock mounts not allowing the axle to drop down any more

3 inch springs should fit fine with stock length control arms, but either way when adding a lift you need to remove the lower control arms from the axle side to get the coils in. Then use a floor jack to align the control arms to get the bolts back in there. If you can get your hands on a coil compressor that would make it a lot easier too.

If you still can't get them in remove the axle side of the track bar too. Coils should be the first thing to go in and then add the control arms and track bar after that.

thanks man i will give it a try!! it still seems like i would get more travel then what i am seeing. if you go more than 3 do you need longer control arms?
thanks again for the advice!!

With 4.5" coils the control arms will be long enough but at that point you will have very limited travel, so you get control arms that have a curve to them to give you a better angle so you don't hit the mount.

Get strut compressors, that's the only way I can do mine.

I used spring compressors from harbor freight... they were like $15.
