Life expectancy for 4.0L I6
Whats the average life expectancy of the Cherokee's 4.0L I6 if you take care of it? Aka change the oil, and other fluids on time, as well as other parts

A LONG *** time...
The 4.0 I6 motors are damn near bullet proof, and if you take care of it, will likely last you the life of the Jeep (with a rebuild here and there)...

I rolled mine over 190,000 last week, and it is still running strong. The top end is a little noisy at times, but that is VERY common. I'm looking at getting one of the fiberglass valve covers to help.

One of the guys who rides with us has a 93 XJ that was used for a rural mail route vehicle by his uncle, it has 330k + miles and is still running strong with no major work. I believe he has replaced the coil, distributor, water pump, etc...all minor maintenance items.

Mine is a perfect picture of someone who didn't take care of a Jeep.
I am only about 800 miles into ownership and it's evident my motor needs replaced/rebuilt. But that's because the previous owner DID NOTHING to maintain it. Just abused it.
