Make sure your front diff vent tube is secure. If it isn't, it works its way down to the driveshaft. Don't ask how I know.

Not bad!

Block off the front, and you'll notice how loud the intake is.
Under regular driving conditions, it's not loud or any different-sounding than a stock intake. When I first start my rig, I hear all kinds of air sucking in for about 3 seconds. After that, I hear no additional noise at all until WOT and even then it's only slightly louder than stock. I don't know if it pulls extra air to build up vacuum or if something closes off after vacuum's been pulled or what.

Friday night it rained so hard you could hardly see the lines on the road. No water in the box, no wet filter.

I replaced the spark plugs tonight. I need to note the mileage here so I know when to change them again.

A word to the wise: if you disconnect your battery, don't leave your keys in the ignition. When you plug the battery back up, the doors lock. (Or at least that was the case with my remote setup.) Luckily I was working in the garage at my parents place and I keep a spare key there. Then again, sitting in a recliner watching cable TV while waiting on AAA wouldn't have been bad either.

The engine is running super smooth. I hope it stays that way.

I am stoked! I scored all 3 factory skids today for $22! Plus I got to spend a half a day goofing off in the junkyard with my dad.

The front one is a little tweaked but I don't think it's anything I can't fix.

*Update* I did straighten out the front skid but sold it instead for $20. The gas tank skid was for the older metal tanks and wouldn't fit around my newer plastic tank. I gave it away to a guy in my Jeep club. I am using the stock t-case skid.

Nothing really remarkable other than how many of us there were and how many mile we were able to put on the sand.

A couple group shots from Rodanthe
