The lights don't seem to be damaged in the least! Also, I have my measurements written down in the garage. Yes, once the replacement parts are in hand I will commence drinking and wrenching.

I was trying to be Ken Block in sand and it didn't quite work out. Looks worse than it is. No airbags. Just a love tap on a crappy stock bumper. I was the only one involved. Nothing hurt but my pride and some tree bark.

My ScanGauge came yesterday. I was hoping to tear into my XJ this weekend but it looks like anything outside of the garage, like the junkyard, is going to get rained out.

Ebay is awesome, so power steering pulley, electric fan, radiator, AC condenser and a complete header panel, antifreeze and a serpentine belt are going to run me around $350.

Straightening the crossmember is the next challenge until all the parts come in. I'm going to try to work it in place but worst comes to worst it looks like I can grind off about 8" of weld bead, take the piece out entirely and pound it straight on the work bench.

Sorry bout your mishap Kevin. The good news is your lights didn't get dinged. The bad new is all that fresh coolant is gone.

PS. Thanks for the Cascade tip. I may have to try that on my next coolant flush.

I'd pull a crossmember off another XJ and have it welded on personally. Ruining a radiator because you're not as straight you think sucks, ask me how I know lol

Thanks man. Yeah, it'll be rolling again soon. Wheel it, break it, fix it, repeat, right?

I'm a carpenter by trade so making sure it's straight should be within my ability but yeah, if it's not working out to damn near perfect, I will definitely be attacking a donor for a fresh piece.

Instead of dealing with the flimsy stock crap, I'm considering just fabbing up my own beefier crossmember. Thoughts?

Beefier is always better.

Itd be pretty easy to just cut some 2x4 down and burn it in.

Eh, I'd rather have a crossmember that will crush in a front end hit than one that won't and let my frame rails take all the impact. Seems like it's riskier to the unibody.

If I ever wreck this Heap again, it's getting parted out and I will be done with Jeeps entirely.

Parts have been ordered. The power steering pulley is in. The radiator should be here this week. I should be able to score a free electric fan this weekend. No news on the rest yet.

so if "YOU" or another person is at fault of a wreck you will part out the jeep and never again own one? why would you take that out on JEEPS I mean I dont think the jeep is the reason for the wreck.

It's not about the one wreck but total amount of frustration. The overall unreliability, poor design from the factory, major failed components, electrical gremlins, etc. that I've been fighting the last 4 years has me of a mind that this will be the one and only Jeep I ever buy.
