Thanks man! Get one! You'll love it.

There are better and brighter lights, for sure, but I'm very happy with the amount of light they put out for the price. The swap from factory fogs to these was so easy, it's like a no-brainer. I do know that if I hadn't trimmed off the air dam, I wouldn't have any plastic left up front after this last wheeling trip.

Yeah I figured since I have them sitting in my basement I should throw them on. I plan on getting a SYE I'm just a little weary of the whole cutting the output shaft thing, haha. How hard was it to cut and tap it?

Cutting was easy. Drilling wasn't too bad. Tapping was strenuous and slow.

What did you cut the shaft with? I saw a different build thread (HotrodHooligan I think) where he put the jeep in drive so the shaft rotated while he cut.

I cut it with a 4" cutting disc in a pneumatic grinder-type tool. Any angle grinder with a cutting disc will work.

Kevin,

Great job with the SYE.. I'm looking at getting one of these cause I'm only at 2" as well and vibes are super annoying. Going with the IRO kit are you in the 242,8.25,AW4 boat?

I've successfully test-fit a friend's 31s. Like most rigs my height, fender clearance was fine; just some rubbing on the lower control arm at full lock.

Thanks! I agree. I've never liked the BFG tread but almost everybody that has them is nuts about them so maybe I'm just wrong. If I can buy this set for a reasonable price to run for a while, I will. Otherwise, I'll probably order the TreadWright knock-offs. As much as I would love to go to the MT/R clones, I spend too much time on pavement to justify the additional cost and faster treadwear of the MTs. That idea is driven home even harder by the fact that I don't need an aggressive tread for what I'm willing to play in. I've never had issues wheeling where I have with just Michelin street tires.

Thanks man! Yeah, I've been back and forth about getting to the point where they fit. I don't really have a use for them but it's where I've wanted to be anyway. Building the bastard pack and finding the existing lift put me past not wanting to lift. Good luck with your SYE install!

Haven't needed to disconnect anything so far. I'm not afraid to lift a tire. The rear locker seems to make up for it. Also I'm still on stock rims so everything tucks in. Sucks about your fenders!

ahhh yes. stock rims. that'll keep em inside the fenders. and oh well about my fenders, id rather have a blast wheeling my jeep than worrying about smashing it up

Indeed. I put a slight crease in the passenger front fender a year ago. I'm covered in pin stripes on both sides after my last trip out. Not really concerned as it's too late to worry about it now. Paint doesn't last forever anyway.
