JK shocks on XJ stock height

I have an opportunity to purchase some almost new JK shocks and my question is would they work for a cherokee that is stock height? I would like to lift it 2" but that will be much later this year. And it needs new shocks.

Short and sweet, would JK stock shocks fit XJ stock height?

EDIT: I have a 98 Cherokee Sport, the JK is a 2012 Unlimited

Yes, they will fit. Most likely they will bottom out. You can get a spacers and 2"shackles for cheap, around $75. I have a 3" and i used JK rubicon red shocks. I also recommend getting atleast bar pin eliminators in the front.
