JCR bumpers and rocker guards
Build List: Part 2
new front and rear axles, gears, and lockers
yoke slip eliminator
4.5" long arms
33" - 35" tires
So after I took care of the body trim I pulled the hood off and started work on it. I don't have compressor right now so I am rattle canning it. I am using Rust-Oleum Professional
I washed, degreased, dried, and taped everything off. Then sanded and cleaned it. I then sprayed one coat of Self Etching Primer, two coats of gray primer, then one light coat of the flat black. I then wet sanded it.
Taped ready for paint
Wet sanded ready for the second coat.
I got the second coat on tonight. Hope to get it sanded tonight if not I will get to it tomorrow. After the black is done I will paint in the white center and the accent strip around the perimeter. The Grand's accent color is red but to keep my girl happy I am thinking of doing it in blue.
No I have not put it back on yet. After a few coats and sanding I had some tiger striping. So I have sanded it back down and a friend is going to loan me a paint gun. I hope to have it done today or tomorrow.
I installed a Rough Country 3” Series II Kit a week ago. I am not going to do a write up of the install as there are many on the forum. I will say the install was easy it was removing the old parts that was the hard part. I ended up breaking a lot of the bolts.
As for my hood no matter how many times I have tried I keep getting miss coloration or striping. I am looking for someone to spry it because I just do not have the skills to paint the black.
