Jeep Cherokee 2.5 CRD

I have a 2004 (63,000 miles) Cherokee 2.5 CRD, recently it has developed a 'weird' reaction when pressure on the power pedal is released for deceleration and reapplied to accelerate. The vehicle moves to the left when decelerating and back to the right when power is reapplied, apart from the fact it is perceptable, it is uncomfortable. The tyre pressures are kept spot on, there is no apparent tracking problem and no wheel wobble, it breaks absolutely square. Any ideas?

2004 Cherokee? Or is it the Liberty with the Diesel?

My suggestions are, to check all bushings --> check the steering up front --> maybe get an alignment ---> thats all i can think of

^^^ Very true! But there was also a 2.5L CRD XJ over seas. But that wouldn't be the case if it has rear control arms, it is the liberty/Cherokee. The XJ died here in the states in '01 but over seas I think it ran till '07.
