So, I bought a prerunner bumper and an XJ utility rack for my XJ. I paid for the item on May 2nd. I just recieved my items. I got the bumper Last week, and the rack came yesterday. More than a 2 month wait time. But the real kick in the nuts is that the XJ rack didn't fit correctly into the gutter mounts. I had to bend the metal tabs to fit into the gutters. I'm not talking about jus a little bit either, it was a lot of bending and now I'm worried about the integrity of the welds that attach it to the tubes. I'm freakin' dissapointed and I won't do business with them again. Just a heads up on my buying experience with JCR offroad.
I bought my steering off of them for my TJ. It took 2 weeks build time and 1.5 weeks to ship. I had top-notch work. They do have this policy on their page though: Order Completion:
All Orders are processed in the order in which they are received. While all of our items are built to suit, most items ship from our location within 10 - 20 business days and will be delivered based on UPS shipping dates to your address. (Please see our shipping page.) For a better estimation of build times please see our front page or contact us.Not having items in stock keeps our overhead low; in turn keeping our prices as affordable as possible. Please be patient with us. The products ARE worth the wait. Order Problems: We try our best to catch any fitment or alignment issues before your item leaves the shop, we do sometimes miss things though. Please test fit ALL items prior to painting/finishing. We cannot give refunds on painted items, we can only repair them. JCR is not responsible for coatings on repaired bumpers.
Current Build Times
Bumpers 14 - 17 days*
Sliders 14 - 17 days*
Steering 10 - 12 days*
DIY Parts 1 - 5 days*
*All estimates are business days.
And remember, when they state how many days it takes. They are talking business days. So 17 days is really 3.5 weeks
It seems JCR is pretty swamped right now. I'd bet if you called them about the fitment issues, they'd remedy the problem, they have good customer service.
Making a public thread trashing a company should be a second resort, after you contact the company and they do nothing for you.
When I got my custom bumpers 8 years ago it took 10 weeks and 12 weeks for rear and front. I was originally told 4-6 weeks... Now I partially think the hold-up was the vendor waiting for a large enough quantity to ship them to powder coating. If I had to do it all over again, I would tell them to forget the powder coating and to tack the savings onto the overall cost.
yea dude JCR is an awesome company. to just come on here and talk trash about them is pretty low. it says right there on there main page they were swamped with orders. if you were worried about the wait time you should have called. as far as the fitment issue things can get bent with shipping, nothing a little hammer cant fix.
JCR is a very good company and because of this they are extremelly busy. i just received my sliders that were ordered the same time as your stuff but it was well worth the wait. i plan to buy the prerunner bumper as well
I responded to your Email. A customer/friend notified us of this post. I did respond to your email before even knowing about this post and everything in that email is our true customer service, nothing I did special because of this post. I also apologize for the delay in response, as we were closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday in observation of the forth of July.
Please feel free to contact me, I would love to discuss the problem, try to remedy it and adjust our future racks if there is a problem.
If you decide you don't want to talk, I apologize for the problems and keep an eye on your mail, I sent something out for you today for your problems.
Ordered my front bumper from them. Waited 2.5 weeks and had it. No problems, great customer serve, great products. Getting ready to order my back bumper in a few weeks.
JCR was nothing but great when I dealt with them in the past. Put my order in over the phone, about 2 months before Christmas and they warned me about their build and shipping policies. Since they do everything to order, I had no problem waiting for my stuff to arrive. I'd rather buy something from a quality company who puts effort into keeping their customers satisfied instead of buying from a company who uses an assembly line to put together parts.
ive been talking back and forth to jcr for the past few months and although i have yet to order anything, ive never heard bad about them. i plan on buying a stage 3 rear with tire carrier soon and then once the bank account recovers, then i plan on buying a pre-runner bumper. they build the bumpers after you order so you should expect them to take awhile. id be more worried if they came sooner. id rather wait for a quality built bumper then want it fast but have it be a piece of junk.
I'll be calling tomorrow (I think) to order their 1 ton steering setup. Spoke to Brian today and he was very helpful. And they have a hilarious "introduction" video on their site. Cracked me up!!
I got jcr stage 1 sliders on my pile very good product worth the wait wish I had the funds to buy some bumpers
