It's starting to rust :(

My oil treatment didn't work as planned ... my XJ is starting to rust. Hopefully I can get 3 or 4 more years out of it. I want to try to
save it , if I can.

Thats nothing you should have seen mine and many others, just clean it up, hit it with some rust preventative paint por 15, chasis saver, bedliner, or even some rustoleum, and be done with it (the rust)

x2 hit it with a wire wheel, then do some chassis saver.

Either wire wheel or mini-sandblaster at Harbor Freight.

The second picture. . . What were you showing us that was rusted there? the leaves, and exauset just do that. they are things we replace. maybe im blind. But deffinatly dont worry about those, and you should search to see some of the rigs that have been saved from rust. Its truely magic what some of these guys have salvaged. Deffinatly something I plan on learning with my 65 Dodge Pickup!

The second picture? There was a lot of brown in that picture. The exhaust on a 11 year old vehicle is going to rust off. I'm more worried about the piece of rust above the cat. Rusty leaves don't matter for me since they need to be replaced (drooping).

45 Miles. I moved out to Syracuse! I've seen some pretty bad Cherokees at Vinces. When I went to grab a tow hitch, I didn't even need to remove the bolts ... just pulled and the receiver and uniframe came with it.
