Icon wheels are hard to find in the SW!

Been on the prowl for a set of Icons. CL has had a couple of sets but all a long distance away. Surprised that they have not shown their faces in the Tucson/Phoenix area. Picked up a nice set of Liberty wheels at a great price but decided I still want the Icons. Once I get past probation I will post a wanted ad in the classifieds. Any other sources out there?

Interesting that the Icon wheels rarely show up on EBay but are available refinished from a couple of suppliers. Another set showed up on CL in Missouri this week but that is not even close- almost as far away as the Pacific Northwest.

WOW! This week, two sets of Icons are now available to me, one set in silver, from a Limited & one set in charcoal from a Classic. Thinking about buying both. Heck wheels are like shoes, never can have too many!!

Did buy a set of charcoal Icons yesterday. The 2003 Renegade 16" wheels are Icons, down to the markings on the backside (16x7 31.75) as on the XJ Icons. Back spacing is the same too!

Got the Icons on yesterday & what a difference. For some reason, the original owner had a set of 205/75R15 on the Jeep (for 10 yrs.!) which are two sizes too small. Rolling diameter of that tyre is 27.1", the OEM 225/75R15 has a R.D. of 28.3" & the 235/70R16" which are on the Icons have a R.D. of 29". The latter fills out the wheel opening nicely. No rubbing or issues with this set-up & the spare tyre fits in the space of the original too! Still working on buying the silver Icons. Will put up for sale the 16" Liberty wheels which I initially purchased before the Icons became available.

215/75r15 was a stock size (I have a door sticker to prove it), and I've heard from very reliable guys that during the Renix years, 195/75r15 from factory did happen on occasion. 225/70r15 also happened (twas what my 96 had from the factory--have build sheet to prove that).

Not that any of that matters--just trivia. As long as my speedo/odo are accurate and don't have rubbing issues, I don't care what my XJ used to have, I'm happy with my 235/75r15's. Glad to hear you found your Icons.

Owners manual for both my XJ and MJ list 205/215/225 as stock options. Anything under 225s looks weird though imo. It's like my aunt's Ramcharger. Stock tire size is 235/75/15s on it and they look weird as hell they're so small on there.

Interesting the different sizes offered. I would guess the 205/75R15 was usually found on the 2WD versions. I have the original window sticker & build sheet on this vehicle & it lists the 225/75R15 as the OEM. The spare is a Goodyear Wrangler RTS (OWL) which I believe is one of the originals. Still working on obtaining another set of Icons in silver for a fair price. Really glad to discover the Liberty Renegade wheels are the same Icon as found on the Cherokee!
