Right now just a Lincoln 110v. Will be looking for a Miller 220v soon. Saving my pennies!

Yea I've been looking at the Hobart 190 from good ol tractor supply. It claims to be able to weld 5/16 and I don't see me welding anything bigger. Anyways I thought I read once you had a Hobart. Sorry for the rant, boxes looking good!

Thanks man. Hobart's are fine. However, consider a Lincoln or Miller from an actual welding store. Better quality.

Hobart is made by miller so it's fine. I got my Hobart from northern tool. Nary a problem. If you can swing it and have 208/230v available, get a welder that can be used with either 120 or 208/230. My Hobart can use either with a simple change of a plug.

Completely stock, and keeping it that way...

Hobarts are titties I don't use much experience but I loved the 210 machine I used. It burned the 1/4 I was welding insanely well!

Made by but not the same quality, its a good home garage welder but there is a reason Miller and Lincoln dominate the commercial/Industrial welding world.

He's an angel dressed in oilskins; he's a saint in the "Sou'wester,"
He's a pluck as they come, or ever can;
He's a hero born and bred, but it hasn't swelled his head,
For he's just the U.S. Government's hired man.

I say it's the same quality but Hobart doesn't have quite the same features a miller does such as the auto set feature or infinite adjustability of the output for comparable models. And since we are talking about garage use a Hobart should be looked at since they're a few hundred cheaper than millers for similar models.
