I have a Quadratec Q11,000. It's currently on my XJ but I used to have it on my '76 Power Wagon. I use it for the usual stuff and also I use it to drag logs up on to my trailer so that I can haul them to the mill. I use it heavily 3-5 days a week. I did have the drum brake spring break on me and it'd only spool one direction. I called Quadratec up and they shipped me out a whole drum assembly that same day (called in the morning). Their Q-series winches are made by a major manufacturer with the Quadratec name on them and so far, quality is good and their customer service has been great. Just my experience with them so far.

Edit: My other winch is a MileMarker SEC8, the 8,000 lbs. winch and it looks A LOT like my Q11,000. Seems that the parts are exactly the same on the inside as well.

I was thinking about the Q11500is and wondered a few things. Do I need a cover? Is there a mounting plate I should look at?

This should be moved to the specific forum for winches. You will find the info there.
