just hit 193k 1990 xj doesnt burn any oil. only work we did was a rear main seal.

01 with 170,XXX, original head. Just keep it cool, replaced a leaking rad a year ago. Still running strong, faulty head? Naw... faulty brains is what it is.

One thing's for sure, it's not a $1k job. Is this the article you were referring to: Power Steering Pump Replacement - 1 ?

I'd still like a little more input about running without the power steering pump working. Has anyone done it or am I crazy for even considering driving at highway speed?
How strong are your arms? powersteering with out the power is far harder to turn than non power steering.
