I bought my XJ in September of 2010. The "dealer" I bought it from got it in April 2010. I was looking at it on and off.

Around August of 2010 my Taurus got to the point that it was too rusty to even think about being safe (it was literally buckling in half). I wanted a modern classic, of sorts, that would be mechanically sound. After a month or so of trying to find a Crown Vic I wasn't able to.

Moved on to Cherokees (honestly had no intention of off roading at the time) and could NOT find a nice 5 speed. Found a lot of autos with frame rot. Finally found a rust free 00XJ ... Couldn't get the guy to come down on the price too much but he did give me $1000 for my junk car so I guess it all works out.
