How to find all XJ parts on clearance at Rock Auto

I've know about this for quite some time as I learned it from the motorsports club when I was in college. I figured I would share this with Jeep Forum because I know how cheap you guys really are at heart...

Go Here: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/catalog.php

Search through the catalog till you find your specific car model. Stop after you select the engine.

Your address bar should read something like "http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1333381" The numbers at the end are your car's code #.

Use this link, but replace the Xs after "carcode=" with your car's code. http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclef...l=en&html=true

Viola. If you need normal replacement parts you can save a buttload of money.

So for example, I have a 1998 Cherokee and the link would be:

http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclef...l=en&html=true

Enjoy JF!

I don't understand the above instructions. What I am missing is where does my car code fit into the text string?

Could you please post another example with the carcode in the address bar?
Mine is 1180370.
Sorry for wasting your time

Don't feel bad. Took me a minute. Find your Jeep and go as far as the motor like he said. Click in his link. Replace his 7 digit number with yours. Hit enter.

Click that link and open it in another tab. It will not open a page but give you an error message. Look up in the address bar in your web browser and you will see something like

"carecode=xxxxxxx" in part of the url address. replace the x's with the number from the rock auto code catalog.

For my 01 it was 1373666.

Those are some unbelievable prices on oil filters and wiper blades.

I think they may have updated it since this was posted. The carcode is now at the end of the URL.
Code:
http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,1988,cherokee,4.0l+242cid+l6,**1179839**
1179839 is my car code.

Hopefully this will help others who were confused.

Axel // 1988 XJ, 4.0L, 3.55, 2"F/4.25"R 33x10.5r15 KO2
Looking for a 440 w/727. Anyone have?
