How do I tell...

Ok, just a quick question from a VERY new to the Jeep thing person. How do I know what "type" my 1994 Jeep Cherokee Limited is? I see 3 or 4 different "types" listed...just not sure how to tell. Thank you for your patience with me while I am learning about Jeeps and the 4WD thing.

Rob

.. jk .. I should have a sticker that says limited, but there really is not many differences that matter much.

What are you looking for/ or planning for your XJ?

I dont have any plans right now except to replace a broken drivers side mirror and get the security system functional again. After that, I am not sure. But this definitely is the start of a beautiful relationship.

Run your VIN through this and give us a pic or two.

If the link doesn't work try it again later. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Do you mean like is it a YJ? TJ? CJ? KJ? and so on, well if your jeep is a Cherokee it is a proud ol XJ. As long as it is not a Grand Cherokee If its a Grand then it would be a ZJ

1994 and "Limited" makes me think that it is a ZJ, though there was a Limited XJ as well. It just seems that the Limited package was more common on the ZJ, as least to me.

Probably because the ZJ only had 3 trim levels. Base, Laredo, and Limited.

host them somewhere like tinypic, photobucket, ect.
Right click the image, copy image location, hit this , paste the image location in it then submit reply.

If it looks like this then it's a ZJ:

If it looks like this then it's an XJ:
